Hi, I’m David Lancashire. In my thirty-year career as an award-winning producer of some of the most memorable advertising campaigns in Disney Parks history, I had the pleasure of working with many of the best directors and cinematographers in the film industry. On each project, I watched their artistry unfold and it gave me the desire to look through the lens and find my own moments, my own stories. I think photography is a very personal thing – whether you’re shooting professionally or just for fun. I’m not a fan of gimmickry. I love to capture moments and images as my eyes see them. It’s a very satisfying feeling for me when I look through my favorite photos and know that’s what caught my eye. It’s even more gratifying when someone else looks at them and says, “Wow.”
I was raised in Grand Rapids and studied broadcasting at Arizona State University. After college, I moved to Huntington, West Virginia where I co-hosted the local version of the nationally syndicated TV program, “PM Magazine.” From there, I moved to Los Angeles and began my long career with Disney.
I absolutely loved my three decades in Southern California and had unbelievable experiences in my career with Disney, but there was much that I missed about West Michigan. As my career wound down, my wife and I decided we would settle down in Grand Haven. We’re new to town, but we’re loving it and really looking forward to our life together here. By the way – my wife and I were classmates in high school, then connected after 35 years and were married just over two years ago.
