“Winter Arts Festival 2017”
For the 20th year, Gallery Uptown in Grand Haven presents its annual Winter Arts Festival, February 1 through 26. This juried art competition features professional and amateur artists from West Michigan and beyond, and is recognized as one of the top regional competitions.
Cash awards were presented to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Honorable Mention recipients. Winners were recognized at the opening reception on Friday, February 3.
The juror for this year’s show was Art Martin, Director of Collections and Senior Curator at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Martin selected more than 50 works from those submitted by West Michigan artists to create a strong, diversified show on display in Gallery Uptown’s Walburg Gallery. The exhibit remains up through the month of February. Admission is free.
The Winter Arts Festival is generously underwritten by local businesses and art patrons, including J. Morgan Ltd. Fine Jewelers, Hofcraft, Michigan Rag Co. and Great Lakes Dental Excellence.
