Grand Haven City Municipal Marina
Gallery Uptown Board has made the difficult decision to cancel Art on the Riverfront 2020. Although we had the support of the City of Grand Haven and had planned numerous alterations to the show this year, we were recently notified of additional restrictions from the Ottawa County Health Department that would make it difficult for the show to go on. These include barriers to the parking lot and boardwalk, strictly enforcing one entrance and exit to the show, and limiting the event to 100 people at a time (this includes artists, artists assistants, and volunteers). We tried to create a solution, but in the end we could not get around the 100 person limit from the County. While the health and safety concerns for artists, volunteers, visitors, and area residents have and will continue to be our top priority, the added limitations made it impossible to manage a successful show.
Gallery Uptown will feature artists on our Art on the Riverfront social media pages to help draw traffic to their work and their websites. We will be moving our 2019 award winners to "pre-juried status for 2021, however, everyone else will have to re-jury.
We look forward to returning next year on August 21, 2021.
