I have never called myself an “artist” as it is a title of great weight, best left for others to endow.
My career has allowed me to travel the world and experience the diversity of art, culture, food, architecture, and people. My camera has been my constant companion with color and light, and the interplay between them guiding me on my way.
Recently, I’ve been producing paintings (acrylics) of my photographs. Photography has become ubiquitous with the introduction of the cellphone. In other words, today's advanced digital technology makes it possible for anyone to take a “great” photo while simultaneously eliminating the training, experience and technical skills previously required. In the past, when working with film, you were limited to 36 frames and made creative and technical decisions accordingly. The “art” of photographic expression is now lost. Today anyone can take unlimited quantities, of the same image, perfectly exposed, color corrected and in focus, hi-def resolution.
