I am a self-taught, fine art and digital media photographer living in Holland, Michigan. My work is about photographing an ordinary thing and making an extraordinary image. I don’t have a mission or a message. I take pictures and edit them in artistic ways. My work tends to be bold and colorful, often with a minimalist presentation. My goal is to capture a good raw photograph, defined by light and detail, and then use the wonders of software to create a unique and beautiful image.
“…I don’t have a philosophy. I have a camera. I look into the camera and take pictures. My photographs are the tiniest part of what I see that could be photographed. They are fragments of endless possibilities….” – Saul Leiter
I have displayed my art in shows and galleries since January of 2018. It has been a remarkable journey and I don’t believe there is a destination. My joy is learning itself. The reward is creating a unique and beautiful image. The icing on the cake is bringing the image to the tangible reality of printed and framed artwork.
My Fine Art Prints are printed on Somerset Velvet Fine Art Paper using Canon Archival Inks, which together produce exceptional color, contrast and detail. For my framed artwork, I use conservation materials and methods and the glass is UV coated. Matted prints are also assembled using acid free materials and are ready to slip into a frame of your choice. Limited Editions have a Certificate of Authenticity attached to the back. Most prints are available in multiple sizes.
