Kendra is a multimedia, collage, and ceramic artist who lives and works in Michigan. Her artwork, whether it begins with clay from the earth or it is a painting with bits of paper added, can often engender a dreamlike/spiritual aura. Kendra finds inspiration for her work from walks on the beach with the water lapping at her feet--this fills her with a sense of peace. At the other end of the spectrum, Kendra states that her work can also be inspired by her chickens! Kendra is a retired Veterinarian Technician who is currently teaching an ongoing watercolor/mixed media class.
Kendra says that she has always had an intense desire or need to create something that nourishes her soul. For her, the whole process of creating art is fulfilling. From the beginning of the process of pulling out her materials, and either starting on a blank canvas or choosing what kind of clay to use...to the end of the process of signing her name and choosing a frame, she feels rewarded by every part of the journey.
"Every time I complete a project and finally hang it on the wall or send it away, I’m filled with melancholy that the process is over, at least until I start my next project.”
